After the success of last years ApprenticeShip Cup, a team of 17 apprentices and staff from Glendale Liverpool are taking to the seas once again in June 2015 for the biggest tall ship regatta in the UK.
A fleet of tall ships will set sail on a sailing adventure to Liverpool during which time the apprentices will have ample opportunity to challenge, stretch and develop themselves as sailors in competition for the ApprenticeShip Cup.
The competition encourages the development of core skills that are necessary for business such as self-confidence, teamwork, respect for others, problem-solving, leadership and communication.
The ApprenticeShip Cup is led by the Merseyside Sailing Adventure Trust (MAST) a charity that enables young people to achieve growth and personal development through sailing.
To earn the right to get on board the ship the team of 17 from Glendale Liverpool need to raise a whopping £10,000 in support of MAST. In order to raise the money, the team are completing an IRONMAN relay within 12 hours in their hometown of Liverpool on 29th May. The competition includes a swim in the Queens Dock, four 28 mile cycle laps taking in Sefton Park and four 6.5 mile running laps taking in the riverfront.
To support the team and help them reach their target you can donate on Peter Cosgrove’s JustGiving page www.justgiving.com/Peter-Cosgrove1.
