Paul Maxwell joined Glendale in May 2015 as contract manager for the company’s contract with Spectrum Housing in the south-west.
Paul has been in the horticulture and grounds maintenance industry for 35-years. He graduated from Somerset College of Agriculture and Horticulture with a National Diploma (ND) in Amenity Horticulture in 1980 and has progressed to the position of parks manager in the public sector and south-west area manager in the private sector.
Paul joined Glendale after four years of looking after the grounds maintenance for the western area of South Somerset on behalf of South Somerset District Council.
He comments: “I saw this new contract with Glendale as a challenge and a fresh start with the potential to grow the business in the south-west. I have always been aware of Glendale as a major player in the grounds maintenance industry with a good reputation.
“In my role as contract manager, I am responsible for ensuring the contract is run effectively to meet with the client’s specification whilst adhering to Glendale’s policies and procedures. It involves all staff management issues and ensuring the teams have the tools to do their job safely and effectively.
“I am really enjoying it so far and am very pleased with how the start of the contract has gone. My main aims are to get the contract off to a good start and provide an excellent service for the client that the company can be proud of. I aim to continue to manage the contract well and look for opportunities to grow the business in a sustainable way.”
During his career, Paul has also exhibited at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show and received one Silver and two Silver Gilt awards.
