Glendale engage with the community in Kingston-upon-Hull

Glendale has been engaging with local residents in Kingston-upon-Hull in order to introduce them to their team delivering grounds maintenance services in the area.

The green space management specialist has been providing grounds maintenance services on behalf of Hull-based social housing provider, Pickering and Ferens Homes, since April 2016.

Contract manager, John Gregory, comments: “Community engagement is a key part of our service provision on behalf of Pickering and Ferens.  We engaged the local community fully in the service from day one, and continue to do so to ensure that residents get to know our operatives who are working in the area as well as what services we are providing.”

In order to support community engagement, Glendale has set up an online hub called Glendale Local where residents can contact a member of the team or find out more about the services being delivered on their estate.

Dave Fontana, regional support manager at Glendale, comments: “My favourite part of the hub is the postcode search which allows residents to find out when our teams are next in the local area.”

A team of nine dedicated, multi-skilled grounds maintenance operatives are delivering a regular schedule of programmed work including grass cutting, litter picking, shrub bed maintenance, hedge trimming and cleansing of hard surfaces and paths.  The team also maintain a nature area at Broadway Village.

John continues: “Having high-quality green space available right on the doorstep makes such a big difference to the wellbeing of the local community, ensuring the area is a great place to live and work.  A key part of that is ensuring that all green spaces are managed well with a high quality, regular maintenance schedule in place to keep it healthy and safe.  Our services will keep the area looking tidy, well-kept and cared for.”

Dave Fontana, regional support manager at Glendale, adds: “The overall aims of Glendale’s service are to provide an efficient and effective service that ensures all green spaces are maintained to an excellent standard for residents to enjoy.  One of the most important elements, in addition to customer engagement, is providing excellent customer service to ensure that local residents are completely satisfied and confident.”

Sandra Gawthorpe, scheme manager at Humber View, said: We’re impressed with the service Glendale provides.  They get on with the residents well and their work is always fast and efficient, they’ll try their best to do anything you ask them to.”

Glendale will continue to provide grounds maintenance services on behalf of Pickering and Ferens Homes for the next three years.
