National green service provider Glendale has helped rejuvenate housing estates in Bolton with shrubs supplied by its sister organisation, Glendale Horticulture.
The project, commissioned by Glendale’s client, Bolton at Home, is now in its second year, and saw a team of local grounds maintenance operatives cleansing and restocking shrub beds with premium specimens.
The project targets dilapidated shrub beds in prominent places on estates managed by the social housing provider and is a key part of Bolton at Home’s investment strategy which aims to make improvements to enhance the area for local residents.
Designs for the new shrub beds were supplied by landscape architect, Kay Gardner from EPD (Environment Planning and Design), a part of Parkwood Consultancy Services, and amenity sales and operations manager, Paul Hooper, assisted by Cara Gallego from Glendale Horticulture.
Ann-Marie Stevens, contract administrator at Glendale, helped organise the project and commented: “Once again we received an enormous amount of support for this project from the team at our sister organisations, Glendale Horticulture and EPD, from the design of the new shrub beds to the delivery of some fantastic products.
“We’re relishing this opportunity to support Bolton at Home in delivering green spaces that residents can be proud of. There are so many benefits to be had from enjoying time outdoors and we’re pleased to be part of helping residents do so.”
Ceri McHugh, neighbourhood project officer for Bolton at Home, said: “We’ve worked closely with Glendale to dramatically improve some of our shrub beds. We hope these improvements will add colour and enhance the environment on our estates for residents and visitors.”
