National green services supplier Glendale donated enough plants, trees and hay bales to create an autumnal scene at the Watford Colosseum ready for Watford Community Housing Trust’s biggest community event of the year, Community at the Colosseum.
The team also carved pumpkins and created ghoulish decorations for the Halloween themed event which was held on 31 October.
Hundreds of people from across Watford and Three Rivers came to the event which featured headline act, Ashleigh and Pudsey, from Britain’s Got Talent. Joining Ashleigh and Pudsey on stage were local acts: Rock Chorus, Rob Miller, Granny Turismo and The Dan Tien Performing Arts School.
George Potts, contract manager for Glendale, comments: “It was great to be involved in Community in the Colosseum supporting Watford Community Housing Trust in delivering an event at the heart of the local community that really worked to bring people together.
“It was an ideal opportunity for members of the community to interact with us, ask any questions and put a friendly face to the company that carries out grounds maintenance services in the local area. Hopefully, it highlighted that we are there for the community if they need us.”
Watford Community Housing Trust also used the event to announce the community area that won Glendale’s ‘Community 25’ competition. The winning area will receive a £1,500 makeover from Glendale in celebration of the organisation’s 25th anniversary.
