Glendale helps Nuneaton and Bedworth get ready for Christmas

National green service provider Glendale has installed Christmas decorations in Nuneaton and Bedworth ready for the festive period.

Glendale has been installing the decorations in Nuneaton town centre for the past 20 years, and in Bedworth town centre for the past seven years, on behalf of Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council.

Barry Bolton, contract manager at Glendale, said: “It’s always a delight to install the Christmas decorations in Nuneaton and Bedworth town centres, it really gets the team in the Christmas spirit and there’s always a great atmosphere.

“This year we’ve been installing lamp columns, hanging string lights in trees and putting Christmas trees on shop canopies.  There are over 800 single items to put up and over 1,000 metres of light cables.”

The Christmas team is made up of four Glendale staff and an electrician, who tests all the lights prior to and during the installation period.

Installation begins in October and the team use Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs), ladders and binding equipment when working at height.

The team will return to remove the decorations in the new year.
