Glendale has collected a prestigious award which recognises excellence in the landscaping industry.
The national green services provider scooped a British Association of Landscape Industries (BALI) National Landscape Award in the community and schools development category, for its work to create a community garden in Enfield.
BALI supports professional landscapers, garden designers and suppliers to help promote an environmentally, ethically and commercially sustainable landscape industry.
Glendale, which has headquarters in Chorley, was tasked with creating the garden by Enfield Council, in order to breathe new life into a neglected urban space on Monmouth Road in Edmonton.
A team of three specialists created a new paving area, implemented new planting schemes and planted trees between November 2016 and March 2017. Ten children from a gardening club at the local school, St Edmund’s Primary School, were also invited to get involved, helping to plant over 800 shrubs and seasonal bedding plants.
The company has been delivering grounds maintenance services on behalf of Enfield Council since 2016.
Shereen Marlow, contract manager at Glendale, said: “We’re thrilled to have won this award as we always take great pride in delivering community schemes and enhancing spaces for local people.”
The awards ceremony was held at Grosvenor House Hotel in London, hosted by BBC Breakfast business presenter, Steph McGovern.
