Glendale Strives to be Carbon Neutral with New Electric Addition to Fleet on Trial

Here at Glendale, one of our main goals is to become completely carbon neutral. We continue to get closer to this goal with a new electric addition to our machinery fleet currently on trial.

Our team had an Ariens Zenith E battery zero turn 60″ deck rear discharge in Edinburgh on trial Saturday morning which we plan will go into South Tyneside. One of the team members trialling it commented “Grass was wet with heavy dew and lush in places, the flat square had a lot of moss in but the machine coped with all. Battery runtime is estimated at 4.5-5 hrs dependant on terrain and conditions, 2.5 hr demo ran the charge down to 50% but we were playing with settings and cut height and speed etc”

Take a look at videos of the trial below:

A second demo is being arranged to see the mulching deck. We’re hoping we can get this all electric mower into our fleet as soon as possible, as we strive to being carbon neutral, we continue to focus on electrifying our fleet via innovative solutions.

Our team also tested another electric mower in South Tyneside – the Ariens battery zero turn. Another example of how Glendale will be demonstrating our PAS2060 Accreditation to help address the climate emergency.

It’s extremely important to employ a grounds maintenance company with a goal of being carbon neutral. Why employ a company to manage your green spaces without a green goal in mind? We want to continue to add to the environment instead of taking away from it. Sustainability and becoming carbon neutral are two of our main focusses at Glendale. Climate change is one of the biggest threats on the planet and as environmental concerns increase, we’re doing our best to take action rather than stay silent, we think every company should strive to make a fundamental change to decrease this threat.
