National green services provider Glendale has promoted David Charnock to head of quality, health, safety, environment, (QHSE) and compliance.
David, of Penwortham, joined the company in 2009 as a training and development officer and has been responsible for implementing Glendale Liverpool’s apprenticeship schemes, creating bespoke training programmes and managing their delivery.
In his new role, he’ll oversee the welfare of all Glendale employees while managing and developing the company’s QHSE systems.
He holds an Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) Managing Safely certificate and a Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) level 3 in Health and Safety.
A former lecturer in horticulture at Myerscough College, David is also working towards a National Examination Board in Occupational Health (NEBOSH) certificate followed by a diploma.
David said: “My new role presents a fresh set of challenges, and I’m looking forward to working closely with contract managers and regional directors to improve and achieve a stronger health and safety culture and increase awareness of risks, which will prevent incidents occurring.”
Mike Brunskill, the director with responsibility for health and safety at Glendale, said: “David’s extensive experience and industry knowledge means he is well equipped for this role, working to help Glendale continue to maintain an excellent record in health and safety and compliance.”
