Glendale introduces new team for the Western Power Distribution contracts in the South West

Glendale is delighted to introduce its new management team for utility arboriculture in Devon and Cornwall.

Julian Montague has been promoted to the position of general manager after James Thomson took up the role of director of utility arboriculture.

Julian commenced his employment with the company 12-years ago as a climbing arborist, spending a number of years as a supervisor before being promoted to service delivery manager on the South West based WPD contract in 2012.

Over the last two years, Julian has overseen utility arboriculture across North Cornwall and North Devon, improving quality standards, client relations and supporting the growing Arb Academy which has now seen 16 members of staff commence a career in arboriculture with Glendale in the South West. Julian has assisted in building a strong team of highly qualified and competent staff and improving PAS55 quality audits across all operations.

Replacing Julian as the service delivery manager for North Cornwall and North Devon is Ricky Brock. Ricky joins the company having spent over 10 years with BT Openreach overseeing their infrastructure maintenance across Southern England. Commencing as an apprentice Ricky has risen through BT holding various management positions including senior operations manager.  Ricky will be based at Glendale’s Launceston office.

Martin Hickman joins Glendale as the service delivery manager for Mid and West Cornwall. Martin joins the company from Sodexo where he recently managed a high standard grounds maintenance contract in Kent. Prior to this Martin spent 10-years with Continental Landscapes in the Midlands where he managed over £2m p.a. of grounds maintenance and arboriculture contracts.  Martin will be based at the Truro office

Terry Doyle, regional director for Glendale in the South West commented “I am delighted that Julian has been recognised with this promotion. Given his focus on quality, professionalism and excellent customer care he was the obvious choice for us. Julian constantly strives for improvements both in the services offered by Glendale and in himself. Martin and Ricky join us with a strong track record in management and both will offer a powerful combination of fresh new ideas and experiences. I wish the new team every success”.
