Glendale arborist becomes UK pole climbing champion

An arborist from Glendale’s Surrey based contract has been named UK pole climbing champion.

Last month Charlie Edwards represented Glendale in a pole climbing competition that took place at the Royal Highland Show securing second place against some of the country’s top climbers.

This month the veteran arborist went one further, not only reaching first place in the veterans pole climbing event at the Royal Kent County Show but winning the main event, sponsored by Husqvarna, becoming UK pole climbing champion.

Phil Hyatt, contract manager for Glendale Surrey Arb, comments: “This is another fantastic achievement for Charlie.  Being in his 50’s he has proven that age is not an issue when it comes to being an arborist and he thoroughly enjoys showing the youngsters how it is done! I would like to take this opportunity to say a massive congratulations from everyone in the Glendale Surrey Arb team.”
