National green services provider Glendale is celebrating after scooping two industry accolades.
The Horticulture Week Business and Custodian Awards recognise the accomplishments of businesses, green space managers and volunteer groups operating within the horticulture industry.
Client retention rates, customer satisfaction and external accreditations were among the factors taken into consideration as the company was awarded the Business Award for Arboriculture Contractor of the Year.
Glendale also picked up the industry magazine’s Custodian Award in the Best Parks Partnership – Commercial category with Lewisham Council. Its partnership with Lewisham Council began in 2000 and was the first of the company’s contracts to combine events management, sports development and infrastructure maintenance with traditional grounds maintenance.
Through the volunteer conservation programme, Nature’s Gym, residents of Lewisham are invited to take part in free educational sessions to participate in nature conservation activities, while socialising and keeping active.
Adrian Wickham, managing director for the south at Glendale, said: “It’s an honour to be formally recognised for the hard work, dedication and enthusiasm delivered by our teams of specialists working across the UK, and we’re thrilled to add the Horticulture Week awards to our collection. We’re committed to creating and maintaining beautiful green spaces for all to enjoy and it’s great to see our efforts are making a difference.”
The Horticulture Week Business Awards were announced at a ceremony held at the London Marriott Hotel, while the Custodian Awards were handed out at Woburn Abbey and Gardens.
