Glendale is seeking to fill a management position managing, maintaining and developing the company’s QHSE & Compliance systems within a matrix management organisation. 

 

The Opportunity

  • To promote, maintain and continuously improve the QHSE & Compliance culture within Glendale so that it can meet and exceed its contractual and legal requirements in terms of QHSE & Compliance.
  • To take responsibility for both Strategic and Operational matters relating to QHSE & Compliance within the company.
  • To provide competent support to all Glendale staff with responsibility for Health & Safety and legal compliance.
  • To develop and evolve the Quality Management System and associated policies and procedures of Glendale.
  • To develop and evolve the Environmental Management System and associated policies and procedures of Glendale
  • To develop the OHSAS 45001 system and associated policies and procedures

The Person

  • The individual should understand the QHSE & associated legal requirements that are relevant to Glendale’s work and ensure that all staff comply with these requirements and the company’s systems.
  • Thorough understanding of regulatory requirements as they apply to a Glendale’s business is desirable, an ability to understand the requirements is essential
  • Understanding of risk management and internal controls is essential.
  • A NEBOSH safety certificate or equivalent is desirable or the ability to work towards this qualification with evidence of good health & safety and compliance knowledge e.g. evidence from the applicant’s current work.
  • Knowledge and understanding of business key performance indicators.
  • Have appropriate knowledge related to arboriculture and horticulture operations that will include technical standards, safety assurance and incident management is desirable, the ability to gain this knowledge is essential
  • IT literacy is essential and a knowledge of using Google cloud based IT is desirable.

 

  • The candidate will be able to communicate clearly to ensure the systems and procedures are understood and can engage over 1,500 operatives and managers based at 80+ locations across Great Britain.
  • It is likely that the successful applicant will be educated to degree level or higher.
  • The candidate will hold a full UK driving licence
  • Experience of working in a multi-site service operations organisation is desirable.
