Permanent Full Time Contract – 40 Hours per week

The Opportunity

Portsmouth Golf Course is one of Hampshire’s busiest pay and play golf venues with an 18-hole course and Nineteen Bar & Kitchen. We are now looking for an Assistant Greenkeeper to join our team. This is a contracted full time position with a 40 hour working week over 5 days, you must be able to work weekends and early mornings from 6am. You will be one of the faces of our business, working in beautiful outdoor surroundings ensuring that our golf course is presented in the best possible condition. We have a great team, and you can be part of it.

Duties include:

  • Cutting greens, fairways and rough using ride-on mowers
  • Bunker edging and raking
  • Strimming
  • Project work
  • Other course maintenance tasks as required

Previous experience in greenkeeping, gardening or landscaping is desirable but not essential. Full training will be given.

Requirements of successful candidate:

  • A can do, positive attitude
  • Good Communicator
  • Friendly disposition
  • Good Organisational skills
  • Interest in golf preferred but not essential
  • Initiative and the ability to work alone and as part of a team
  • A strong work ethic
