Apprentice Arborists – Dettilng, Kent

This is an outstanding opportunity with a market leader providing arboricultural services to private and public sector businesses.

We guarantee our staff have work every day. Glendale arboriculture carries out a wide range of tree-related works for domestic, commercial & public sector clients, throughout London and the South East. We are looking for apprentices to become the future of our arboriculture teams.

Services offered in this region include woodland and estates management, vegetation management, fencing, tree surgery, forestry and environmental engineering projects.

Our arborists benefit from a vast array of tools and equipment, from high-end timberwolf chippers, Husqvarna and Stihl handheld equipment including battery equivalent tools, Mobile Elevated Platforms, remote-controlled stump grinders and 3.5t – 7.5t arb spec vehicles.

The duration of the Apprenticeship is 24 months

  • You will be working towards the Level 2 Arboriculture Apprenticeship Standard.
  • You will be able to carry out the academic side of the apprenticeship online at your own leisure
  • You will be required to attend Derby College on a block release basis as part of the apprenticeship training.
  • You will be working on permanent contracts with the opportunity to build and develop a long-term career.

A Typical day

Each working day will begin with meeting your team leader and mentor for a briefing and loading up the necessary tools and materials for the tasks.

After travelling to the work site your tasks will be varied and as per the team leader’s instruction.

Our Arb apprenticeship will aim to offer predominantly Arb-based experience, including:

  • Arboricultural groundwork operations
  • Operating machinery safely
  • Working with and around chainsaws
  • Rope access work, progressing onto aerial rescue techniques
  • Working towards aerial tree-cutting techniques

The day will end back at the yard in time to unload and clean up.
