VEGETATION MANAGEMENT OPERATIVE

Fixed Term Contract 40 hours per week (8am – 4.30pm)

Location: Launceston (North Cornwall and Devon)

Qualifications and Requirements

Whether you’re a school leaver, resettled military personnel, outdoor enthusiast and looking to develop in the exciting industry of Arboriculture but don’t have the experience – we will give you thorough training to give you the skills and confidence you need.

 

You will be in a team comprised of Professional Enthusiastic Arborists working in all weathers from sunshine to storms to ensure the overhead electrical network is maintained on behalf of Western Power Distribution. This will take you to locations as diverse as rural farmland, coastal regions, highways and hamlets, areas of outstanding natural beauty, villages and towns all within the beautiful South West countryside of Devon and Cornwall.

  • Willingness to learn and develop as an practical Arborist to preserve and protect the wider environment and understand the roles Trees have within our lives
  • A Full UK driving license is desirable
  • Industry accreditations are preferred but full training will be given
  • This is a physically challenging job and involves bending, lifting and manual handling so a basic level of fitness is really important to undertake the role effectively

Selection Process

  • Interviews to be held week commencing 4th March 2019
  • Successful candidates will undertake training on Monday 11th and Tuesday 12th March with UA1 NPTC assessment on Thursday 14th March. On completion and achievement of  initial NPTC accreditation a formal offer will agreed in conjunction with entry onto client Induction day Friday 15th March in Taunton.
