Pick of the Bunch: Senior Arborist Jason Stroud

Glendale is pleased to shine the spotlight on Jason Stroud, a Senior Arborist whose dedication and expertise continue to make a strong impact within the arboriculture team. With nearly three decades of experience, Jason brings a wealth of knowledge to every project and plays an important role in developing the next generation of arborists.

Sharing Knowledge and Building Skills

For Jason, the most rewarding part of the job is passing on his skills to others. He takes pride in seeing his team put new techniques into practice and grow in confidence. “I enjoy passing on my knowledge to my team,” he explains. Watching colleagues apply what they have learnt and succeed on site gives him a clear sense of purpose.

A Career of Hard Work and Dedication

Jason describes his work life as “hard but enjoyable,” a reflection of the physical demands of arboriculture and the satisfaction it brings. His career has been shaped with almost thirty years of commitment to tree care. Although he did not originally plan to become an Arborist, his determination and love for the trade guided him to this respected position.

Joining Glendale

Jason’s journey with Glendale began when he was invited to help build a new arboriculture team alongside colleagues Dave Holden and Benjamin Maloney. The challenge of starting something new appealed to him and gave him a chance to use his experience to shape a high-performing crew. “I fancied the challenge of starting a new Arb team,” he says.

Training for the Future

Career development remains a key part of Jason’s role. He is currently training to become a LANTRA instructor and will soon deliver in-house training across Glendale. This new responsibility highlights his influence within the company and his commitment to helping others progress. “My progression and influence on others and becoming the first in-house trainer for Glendale” is a career achievement he values highly.

Skills That Make a Difference

Communication and adaptability are, in Jason’s view, the most important qualities for an Arborist. Clear instructions keep teams safe and productive, while the ability to adjust to changing conditions ensures that every project runs smoothly.

A Rewarding Career Outdoors

Jason encourages others to consider arboriculture as a career path. He describes it as an underrated industry that offers opportunities to travel, learn, and enjoy memorable days in nature. “I’ve had many amazing days and travelled all over the UK doing Arb. It’s definitely one of the best trades worldwide,” he says.

Jason’s story shows how skill, perseverance, and a passion for tree care can lead to a fulfilling career. His progression from experienced arborist to in-house trainer reflects the opportunities available at Glendale for those who are ready to work hard and share their knowledge.
