Glendale has recently commenced our prestigious contract to manage parks and open spaces within the Royal Borough of Kingston-upon-Thames and now seek a suitably qualified and experienced manager who will spearhead engagement in activities and projects involving members of the public, stakeholders and community groups across the Borough.

The Opportunity

This is an outstanding career opportunity with a market leader to deliver a strategically important contract which could see Glendale delivering first class services in Kingston for the next 14 years. 

Our Community partnership including direct engagement with groups and individuals to identify and develop suitable project activities for volunteers at a group and individual level. It is expected that the post holder will take a proactive role in this process working with relevant wider Glendale and client staff and partner organisations to maximise project outcomes and increase the number of volunteering opportunities, landscape improvements, training and education opportunities.

The role will be the first point of contact with groups and individuals expressing an interest in community and volunteer activities. This will include supporting new and emerging groups to develop their organisational structures and constitutions where required and empowering our community in the maintenance and management of facilities across the Borough.

You will have full responsibility for the contract performance across all service streams, with the support of local, regional and central management/support teams. 

The Person

Candidates should be well organised, and have skills in people and project management, with a passion for parks, conservation, countryside & natural environment maintenance. The successful candidate shall have a track record in the supervision of community, environmental or public facing projects, preferably in the land management sector.

You should have a strategic outlook to meet short, medium and long-term objectives and champion continuous improvement and community involvement.
