Glendale enters the highway maintenance sector with the award of NHSS18
Glendale have been awarded National Highways Sector Scheme 18 (NHSS18) compliance at two offices.
Our Launceston, Cornwall and Duxbury offices were audited in April and recommended for the scheme which will allow our teams to carry out landscape and tree maintenance contracts on behalf of the Highway Agency.
The NHSS18 is the customised management system for landscaping and the environment (including ecology) and is mandatory for all contractors working for the Highways Agency.
NHSS18 reflects requirements embodied in EN ISO9001:2008 Quality Management system with specific relevance to landscape construction and maintenance, arboriculture, environmental management and pesticide application.
The scheme aims to ensure that companies working on roads have a trained and competent workforce. Sector Scheme, supported by LANTRA, BALI and the Arb Association, is designed to provide an industry benchmark, ensuring all processes are planned, and demonstrate continually improving standards, promoting confidence in quality management systems by provision of a robust transparent system.
