CUTTING EDGE CONTRACT FOR GLENDALE AND HOUSING PARTNERSHIP

GREEN specialist Glendale has won a unique contract that breaks new ground in aboricultural services.

Glendale was selected by the Richmond Housing Partnership to perform the dual role of maintaining its tree stock and surveying it.

The amalgamation of these two services devolves greater responsibility to Glendale and represents a major step forward in forging closer links between client and provider.

Jonathan Hazel, Director of Aboriculture at Glendale said: “We are delighted to be working with Richmond Housing Partnership, providing a seamless, cost effective service grounded in expertise and innovation.

“Giving us greater responsibility for the organisation’s tree stock naturally forges new levels of partnership and co-operation between us.

“We hope that more housing associations will seek to benefit from this holistic style approach to aboricultural services.”

Traditionally organisations have performed their own tree stock surveys and employed contractors to carry out the maintenance works.

In Richmond Glendale will firstly analyse the association’s 3,000 mature trees located in private gardens and amenity areas.

It will then make recommendations on how to manage the trees, draw up a maintenance plan and carry out the works.

The three-year contract worth £180,000, means the company will also play a greater role in communicating with the local communities in the London Borough of Richmond.

It is also the first time the Richmond Housing Partnership has awarded an individual contract for its tree stock.
