Purchasing Manager

The Glendale Commercial Department controls an annual spend in excess of £15 million, and are recruiting a Purchasing Manager to join the team. The position will cover a wide variety of areas including national supply contracts, capital expenditure, fleet management, property and insurance. This is an exciting and varied role working within a key support service for the business.

We are seeking a commercially minded applicant, of graduate or similar calibre, ideally with or working towards full CIPS membership.

The applicant will be a proactive business Manager, with experience of supplier contract negotiation and management. Experience of vehicle fleet management is also desirable, but not essential.

The individual should have excellent communication and organisational skills, and the ability to work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.

Grounds Contract Manager

Glendale Grounds Management Ltd is one of the UK’s leading grounds maintenance contractors, providing green services to parks, gardens and green open spaces for local authorities and blue chip private sector clients.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day operational management of facilities at the contracts with activities involving close liaison with our highly valued clients, ensuring that resources are being used effectively, and maintaining high productivity levels on this prestigious contract. This is a hands on role involving monitoring the progress of teams on site and taking quick and effective action to maintain both high productivity and client satisfaction. Production of weekly and monthly reports will also be expected.

Candidates will be well organised, and have skills in grounds maintenance operations and fine turf maintenance, have excellent leadership ability, be enthusiastic as well as possessing effective people management and communication skills. Candidates should ideally have, or be working towards, a horticultural qualification and have a good understanding of Microsoft Office.

Arborist

Glendale is seeking qualified and motivated Arborists to work in the London & South East area from our Sevenoaks depot. The candidate’s key responsibilities will be climbing and undertaking arboricultural duties including tree pruning, dismantling and felling. The Arborists will have a minimum of 3 years experience, need to be flexible, reliable and have a thorough, proven knowledge of all aspects of tree work. They will hold the requisite NPTC Certificates and a clean driving licence, preferably a full pre 1997 or subsequent trailer test award licence. The candidate must ensure that Health & Safety regulations are followed at all times. Marketing Intern

Temporary 6 month placement, must be able to start immediately.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a marketing graduate or someone with some marketing experience under their belt to gain experience in a small busy B2B marketing team. As a Marketing Intern, you`ll have the chance to get involved in the entire marketing process from start to finish, including developing strategies through to execution, and across all channels. You will liaise and build relationships with other functions across our business.

Qualified to degree level - a marketing, business, English or mathematics qualification is preferred but not essential - you will also have excellent Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and Excel skills. In addition, excellent verbal and written communication skills and a proven ability to develop clear, succinct and persuasive written marketing communications would be beneficial.

You will assist with the development of the Glendale brand and support the provision of a high quality service which delivers Glendale’s marketing strategy. Manager

Glendale Golf is recruiting for a Manager for Portsmouth Golf Course. Standing on Portsdown Hill and boasting fantastic views over Portsmouth, Southsea and Langstone Harbour the outlook from the course is spectacular, and on a clear day the Isle of Wight can be seen in the distance. This 18-hole Par 69 course features picturesque holes with beautiful tree lined fairways.

General Manager

Glendale’s Civic Trees operates on a national basis from an office facility in Watford. Civic Trees is a specialist company dealing with semi mature tree supply, planting and relocation.

The General Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day operational management at the contract with activities involving close liaison with our highly valued clients, ensuring that resources are being used effectively, and maintaining high productivity levels on the contract. The key responsibilities for this role include overseeing the smooth running of the business and carrying out all financial accounting requirements, as well as ensuring that resources are being used effectively and maintaining high productivity levels on the contract.

The successful candidate will be educated to degree level (essential) or an equivalent level 6 qualification, ideally in a land-based study (e.g. Horticulture, Arboriculture or Construction Plant operations) or a similar industry. The ideal candidate will have good communication, interpersonal and organisational skills with high energy levels and enthusiasm. They will have financial and medium term planning skills as well as operational awareness.
